Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are all far too kind! On the 3rd of December I asked for birthday presents, I asked that you send me your old clothes in clean and good condition (see post here). I asked for toys. I said it was because a company owned by hubby and I- Arial View Nigeria Limited- wanted to support the internally displaced people (IDPs) in Adanmawa State, Northern Nigeria, this Christmas by giving them (especially the kids), clothes and toys. And you all responded! I got emails from readers of this blog offering clothes, offering to sort, offering to help in any way possible.
You responded in amazing ways, on the 18th of December, we sent 9 suitcases to the Red Cross in Abuja! Yes, 9 suitcases, some marked kids 0-5, women, men, toys, school bags, male kids 5 and above, female kids 5 and above. To top it all off, there was a bicycle! They have now been sent to the Red Cross, who we are working with, they will handle transportation and delivery to the Camps in Adanmawa.
I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for your support, thank you for your love. I am grateful and I am moved. May The Lord heal our land and bless you for caring about what he cares about.
I am also thinking of ways to make this on-going. By the new year, I’ll be engaged in full-time employment so may not be able to pay as much attention to this as I did this past couple of weeks, but I believe that this is a great way to help. We may feel helpless and at a loss as to what to do about the insurgency in the north of Nigeria but any way that we can help our brothers and sisters is welcome. So I am open to ideas and feedback, how can we make this and other aid flow regularly to the North. Please respond on this post or send an email to hajelsblogs@gmail.com with your thoughts on this.
May God heal our land and the world at large.
